April 1st — Happy President’s Day!

I think I have Covid 19. There’s no way of knowing. Thank you Mr. President. (They say not to “rant” in a blog, but today I am.)

Just two weeks ago I returned from Canada, and easily breezed from the plane to the curb of Houston’s Bush International Airport in a record 5 minutes! Where were all the screenings? Customs officials? Face-masked officials? According to News sources everywhere, airports were jammed, temperatures being taken — two hours of waiting in lines. But nope: not in the great United States of America.

With just a tinge of guilt, I delightedly called my husband to pick me up as I tucked away snacks, book, and mask. The next day Trump closed the “dangerous” Canada-US border…WHAT? My friends called him “courageous” for the move. Huh? As of today, the online ‘world-o-meter’ shows that Canada has half the number of Covid-19 cases of the U.S. and 1/4 the deaths, per capita of course. Number of deaths in America is 2.3% of those infected, whereas Canada’s is 1.2%,Norway’s is .9% and Germany’s is 1.1%.

I’ve lived in the USA for 22 years and found my initial surprise at how this republic is run to plunge from disappointment to gut-wrenching shock. My head is tired from doing 360s and my eyes spurting blood with the injustices, the waste of resources, the materialism, the propaganda. America could be so much better, and never have we seen this more than at the present moment.

With the present pandemonium I vacillate between panic and peace (more on that tomorrow, along with my quest for a test). I wanted eagerly to make this country Home but have sadly come to realize that ANY of the other four countries I’ve lived in feel more like “home.”

As for the now, I repeat my hope of four years: “MALA.” Make America Learn Again. Today I change that to MAKE AMERICA LIVE AGAIN. Today’s the day the prophets declared to celebrate you, Mr. Trump. We know you’re ecstatic about all the publicity.
